New Explosions in Tianjin at the Same Site
After the previous explosions in Tianjin that resulted in about 85 casualties and hundreds of injuries, new explosions erupted on Saturday. There were thick fumes and dark clouds filling the sky from the fire and all citizens within a 3 kilometer radius were evacuated to a nearby shelter.
China’s problem is the lack of development. Despite being a significant contender in the race of which country is most powerful, China’s technology is not as developed or intricate as a long-standing MEDC such as the United States or the United Kingdom.
Furthermore, the fires were chemical related. Water reacted with some of the chemicals, which in some cases heightened the fire. Contamination still exists around the warehouse, making it easy for more fires to ignite.
Tianjin officials have said that while they cannot give an official list of the chemicals at the warehouse, the materials were supposed to be transported elsewhere. However, deadly chemicals did exist at the warehouse such as sodium cyanide.
There has not been any noted changes to the water supply, however if someone is exposed to the chemicals for a prolonged amount of time, their health may be at stake.

China Blocking Entry to the Site of the Explosion
As expected, China has blocked entry for anyone to visit the site of the explosion. All updates are released by police. So far, the police have released reports of about seventeen casualties and hundreds of injuries. However, this also creates a viable opportunity for China to censor the true nature of the accident. Hopefully the government is genuine about the devastation.
Massive Gas Related Explosion in China
An extremely large explosion occurred in Tianjin last night at 11:30, August 12th. The explosion is said to be gas-related, however this has not been confirmed. The explosion took place on a warehouse that stored “dangerous goods”. There were two explosions. Both were recorded by the Earthquakes National Center with magnitudes of 2.3 and 2.9 on the Richter scale.
Here is shocking footage of the explosion, that reportedly could be seen from space.
The number of casualties is unclear and unconfirmed, however Tianjin is in a state of distress. At least seventeen people have died so far, and at least 300 were injured. Aside from this, many people are still trapped on site.
